Beyond the waves, beneath the surf, and into the deep blue lies the gleaming underwater world of the Mermaze Mermaidz.
In 2022, Pixel Zoo dived deep into the underwater world of Mystic City with ‘Mermaze Mermaidz’. The show follows a group of mermaid best friends as they are granted magical colour-changing abilities which they must learn to harness in order to save the city from the forces of evil.
From start to finish, this show was an adventure to work on. Creating a full underwater world was a new task for the studio and brought new challenges. Animating characters who are underwater requires extra thought and attention to make it feel believable. These characters also have the longest hair of any characters we had previously animated so extra care was required.
